The airline has adapted the lates 21.3 schema of IATA’s NDC to deliver rich content and interactions to travel agents and partners
Air India has successfully implemented the integration of NDC New Distribution Capability, becoming the first Indian airline to adapt NDC. NDC gives airlines new capabilities to merchandise and retail the airline’s products across multiple channels in real-time. Air India has adopted the latest 21.3 schema of the IATA, changing the way its products are retailed to travel agents, travel corporations, leisure and business travellers, and other travel resellers.
The adoption of NDC allows for more personalised and efficient interactions between Air India and its travel partners. Travel agents and partners now have the opportunity to access deals in real-time across various sales channels and the airline can offer tailored services dynamically such as tailored flight packages, ancillary services, seat select etc. “Implementing NDC is a significant milestone for Air India as we continue to innovate and enhance our distribution strategy. Our goal is to provide a seamless and efficient booking experience for our travel partners and customers,” said Nipun Aggarwal, chief commercial officer, Air India.
Air India will also offer NDC exclusive offers, fares and a diverse set of content which were previously not available through traditional distribution channels
