Fiji Airways has confirmed that CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen will step down in October 2025 to take up the role of CEO at Air Mauritius.
Viljoen, who joined Fiji Airways in 2015, has overseen a period of significant growth, including a doubling of the fleet, a sharp rise in revenue from FJ$815 million to FJ$1.9 billion, and an improvement in the airline’s global SKYTRAX ranking from 102nd to 14th.
During his tenure, the airline also launched a new Aviation Academy and expanded its international standing, earning multiple industry accolades. His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was marked by rapid operational recovery and a strong financial rebound.
Fiji Airways has begun an international search for Viljoen’s successor. He will remain on the airline’s Board of Directors following his departure.
