Tourism Fiji Chief Executive announces departure

Tourism Fiji is preparing for a leadership change with the announcement that Chief Executive Brent Hill will conclude his tenure in late August 2025, marking the end of a four-year period at the helm of the Pacific destination’s tourism marketing efforts.

Hill, who has led the organisation since 2021, will be relocating to Australia with his family following his departure from the role. The timing of his exit comes as Fiji’s tourism sector continues to build momentum in key source markets including New Zealand.

Tourism Fiji Chairman Andre Viljoen praised Hill’s contribution to the organisation during a transformative period for Pacific tourism. Viljoen described the outgoing CEO as both an exceptional executive and motivational leader who successfully navigated the destination through unprecedented challenges.
“His leadership over the past four years has been instrumental in guiding our transformation and expansion, especially as we rebuilt following the pandemic’s impact on international travel,” Viljoen noted in announcing the departure.

The leadership announcement comes shortly after Viljoen himself revealed plans to step down from his dual role as CEO and Managing Director of Fiji Airways, indicating a broader period of executive transition across key Fijian tourism organisations. Hill’s departure will mark the end of an era that saw Tourism Fiji adapt its marketing strategies and rebuild international visitor confidence as border restrictions lifted and travel patterns evolved in the post-pandemic landscape.
